Technical and Product Training
for Truck Specialists
Since 1964 Truck Marketing Institute has provided technical and product training for the truck industry — including those in sales, leasing, engineering and purchasing. We now have five different correspondence courses that cover light, medium and heavy duty trucks. These Precision Truck Training courses are tailored to those working with Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, Isuzu, International, Mack, Freightliner, Sterling, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo, and Western Star. Or for those working with multiple light, medium or heavy makes, we offer "general" courses, that make use of non-make specific product data.

Course Descriptions & Enrollment Information
For details and pricing on the Precision Truck Training courses, go the Course Selector page. Scroll down and select the truck make and weight range you work with. This will take you to a page that describes the course in detail and includes a downloadable catalog sheet and enrollment application form.

Precision Truck Training
Graduates of TMI are confident in their product knowledge and ability to meet the requirements of the toughest applications. Over 59,800 graduates of TMI have been trained in truck selection and application: The meaning of the terminology, the intricacies of the product and how to interpret product specifications. The Precision Truck Training series consists of five independent courses, covering the entire truck spectrum, each stands on its own — they don’t have to be taken in sequence. The in-depth training we provide is print based, the core being the textbooks we publish. Acrobat PDF versions of textbooks are available as an option for most courses. The make specific courses are customized for each brand and require access to factory product data.

Greater Confidence Through
In-Depth Product Knowledge

TMI is a great way to expand and improve your staff's product knowledge and confidence. Get new truck personnel up-and-running in a short time, and provide continuation training for truck specialists who need to stay ahead in a changing world. Another part is learning and applying product knowledge gained from factory product information — print, Compact Disc, or online.

The “Classroom” Comes to the Student
TMI students make the best use of time. Distance training lets them stay on the job while completing flexible, self-paced training. Every student is a “class of one,” tutored expertly by a TMI instructor, who critiques the achievement test following each lesson. Test scores are normally returned within one business day after the test arrives at TMI by fax or mail.

Enrollments and Tuition
You can enroll employees any time throughout the year. Precision Truck Training is an effective way to increase light, medium or heavy-duty truck knowledge. And the cost is reasonable, with no travel time or added expenses. If a course is not completed for any reason the value of the “unused” lessons can be credited to enroll another employee.

Enrollment application form and course catalog sheets are found after you choose a course on the Course Selector page. Or call us at 1-805-684-4558 to enroll over the phone.

Your Satisfaction Assured: If you are not satisfied, return unused course materials within 30 days and we will cancel the invoice. Business-sponsored enrollments are treated as company property.

Rebates on the cost of tuition are available from many truck manufactures. Often the percent of the reimbursement is based on the average test score achieved on the TMI Precision Truck Training course. See the Rebate page fopr more information.

Credit Terms, we will invoice your firm for full payment within 30 days after the date of enrollment. We also accept VISA, MasterCard, AmericanExpress and Discover cards. Or you can prepay by check or money order and receive a 2% discount.

Group Discounts are available for five or more enrollments. See the PDF catalog sheet after you select a truck make under on Course Selector page for more details.
