Since 1964 Truck Marketing Institute has provided technical and product training for the truck industry—those in sales, leasing, engineering and also purchasing.

Courses produced by TMI do not focus selling skills, but rather on “sales engineering” skills. As such, there is demand for these courses from not only truck sales organizations, but also from allied industries such as component suppliers and fleet, leasing and finance companies.

TMI non make specific "general" courses are ideal for those who do not have access to factory data books, or are in leasing, purchasing or working with multiple makes.

Heavy trucks and tractors are the subject of our ten-lesson Precision Truck Training: Course III. Students study and are tested on product information and advanced concepts in sales engineering and specing of Class 8 vehicles.

Students work through the ten tests for this course and mail or fax them to TMI for grading. Grades and comments are often returned in one business day. The cost for this in-depth heavy-duty product training is US$825 for students in the US or Canada.*

General courses can be completed with factory data books, or with a Truck Index. Add US$40 for a Diesel Truck Index if you do not have one available.

Now the textbook for this course is also available as an “eBook” on a compact disk in addition to the printed version. This is a $30 option for the course. Using the free Adobe Acrobat reader, students can scroll through, read and search the textbook from almost any computer that can read a CD.

Some of the benefits of using the TMI General Course:

  • You get quick and thorough training for your staff
  • Factory data books are not required for general courses
  • Graduates have more confidence in specing trucks
  • Students are tested on the latest product information
  • The textbook makes a great long-term reference source
  • Your staff stays in town, on the job, with no travel costs
  • Your Satisfaction Assured:
We will cancel the invoice if you are not satisfied.

* Discounts are available for group enrollments of five or more and also for cash payment—download the enrollment application and catalog sheet for this course for details, including rates for other countries.
